- BIAWA membership certificate

- Promotions run by the BIAWA to raise consumer awareness of the benefits of dealing with a BIAWA Member

- When you book advertising on Boats Online, your ad will also be published in the ‘Boats for Sale’ section of the BIAWA website at no extra charge
- Promotions run by the BIAWA to increase awareness of & participation in the WA boating lifestyle
- Representation of your industry to Federal, State and Local Governments by the Association. Departments & organisations that we liaise with regularly include:
- Access to the BIAWA for advice and guidance on industry, business and specialist industrial relations matters, including but not limited to:
- Provision of workplace information & advice with regards to wages & awards applicable to the marine industry in Western Australia
- Access to highly competitive & marine industry-specific existing business, building or personal insurance policies
- Assistance & support with conflict management & resolution, for example in the case of customer complaints
- Use of the Association’s conference room in Burswood as a neutral venue for mediation/negotiations
- Access to the BIAWA member-only resources portal, including standardised industry documentation library
- Monthly updates of boat registration statistics from the WA Department of Transport
Who can be a BIAWA Professional Member?
Ordinary membership is open to:
- genuine manufacturers, wholesalers, importers and retailers of marine craft, trailers or associated equipment, or
- any company, organisation or registered business that derives their income wholly or partly from the marine industry
Associate membership is open to:
- boating, fishing, sailing, diving and water sports clubs and associations
- educational institutions, and
- other organisations whose aims and objectives are deemed to be compatible with the interests of the association
An Associate member is not be eligible for election to the Board, and does not have voting rights.
Service Provide membership is open to:
- Cleaners, mechanical service providers, marine electricians, equipment installers, boat maintenance, transport providers and other registered businesses who both:
- provide services to Ordinary, Associate & Individual members within the marine industry, and
- derive their income wholly or partly from the marine industry
A Service Provider member is not be eligible for election to the Board, and does not have voting rights.
When a business becomes a member of the BIAWA, they become part of a wider community dedicated to the promotion of the marine industry in Western Australia. They also take on a commitment to maintain the strong reputation for safety and quality that has been developed by the BIAWA over five decades.
